Meet The Family!!!

Fallon

Hi, guys! Fallon here!! A little bit about my background - I have been a Veterinary Technician for over a decade. I started as a volunteer in wildlife rehabilitation at The Wild Bird Fund in Manhattan. I fell in love with it. It was hard not to with all of the little goslings. As I progressed into clinical medicine at Bay Ridge Animal Hospital, I wanted to add to my career so I became a dog walker at Bark Slope. Eventually, I moved over to Marine Park Veterinary Group and worked as their primary surgical technician with a focus in anesthesiology, and continued my relationship with dog walking as a manager for Brooklyn Bark. I feel that the balance of animal hospitality and veterinary medicine has strengthened my relationship with all species, and I found a love for dogs that I never expected. I feel truly lucky and proud to be where I am now. Fortunate to be able to provide the best life possible for both of my pups, my kitty, and all of our furry friends.

Arthur

This is my father, Arthur! He is the kindest and gentlest soul I know! Dad has a big heart for all of our little furry friends, and, just like Stan, he is a charmer for pups with a shy demeanor. My father has opened up my life to nature, and his unwavering support in every endeavor has afforded this wonderful opportunity to work alongside animals as a career. I grew up in a National Park here in NYC, so weekends were filled with hikes through the preserve, fishing, and caring for our local wildlife. His entire family has passed down lifelong lessons in valuing our planet. I couldn’t be more grateful to call him my Dad.

Stan

This is Stan - he is my partner in life, love, and every adventure we have here at Hotel Barrk! Stan has a soft spot for all of our kitties that come to stay with us! His calm presence always draws in the love and affection of our guests, especially those who can be a bit more shy or struggle with anxiety. When he’s not cuddled up with a furry friend, he can be found managing a small team of 300 humans at Amazon! With all of his hard work, he truly appreciates getting to spend his weekends exploring nature with the pack!

Klaus

This is Klaus, King of the Haus! Klaus entered our lives while I was working at Bay Ridge Animal Hospital. Two kind women rescued him from their backyard when he was about two weeks old. He was born into a feral colony and already had significant damage to his cornea from fighting for food. After a few weeks of treatment, I decided to adopt him. Even though he is partially blind in one eye, and the first two weeks of his life were less than ideal, he is incredibly confident, and loves meeting new guests - whether they be human or canine! With the love he has to offer, you’d think he was part Labrador! He is truly the most wonderful cat.

Genevieve

Genevieve is a pup after my own heart! She is always up for adventure and ready to go! Genevieve grew up on a farm in Delaware. When I went to meet her and her family, I instantly knew we’d spend many more years growing old together. She was curious about the roosters roaming around the yard while her brothers were rolling in the compost pile. Needless to say, her explorative nature stole my heart! She’s an incredible swimmer, and loves running alongside the bike with me. She’s a rightful athlete, and I’m lucky to share her company and companionship!

Augustine

Augustine is the baby of the house! He came into our lives about a year after Genevieve, but his personality is truly his own! While he loves to run, play, and explore every new scent, his confidence and kindness are what radiates. He is always excited to make a new friend, and enjoys helping me work with pups who need help socializing. Some of his best work has been rehabilitating Covid puppies to understand pack dynamics, healthy communication skills, and develop confidence. If I need help herding a pack back inside, he’s always up for the task! His gentle nature when playing with our little ones is so sweet to watch. Without Augustine, Hotel Barrk wouldn’t be the same! He is one of the smartest dogs I have ever met.
