What We Do

We currently offer Daycare, Boarding, and Home Visits for canines, felines, small animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.

All of our services require an Intake and Meet & Greet Appointment, both of which are free of charge. We start with a Virtual Intake appointment. It is conducted over the phone and takes about 20-25 minutes. At that time, we will go over any allergies, medical conditions, medications, preventions, his or her little quirks, daily routine, and scheduling a Meet and Greet appointment prior to their Daycare, Boarding, or Home Visit.

For canines, Meet and Greet Appointments are conducted in a neutral setting, such as a park. The appointment usually takes about 30 minutes, and you will bring your pup, so he or she can get to know me and my family in a safe, comfortable setting over a walk.

It is common to elect for Home Visits for felines, small animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but even if you choose to Board (Felines, Large Birds, and Small Animals only), Meet and Greets will be conducted within your home where your loved one can get to know my scent in a setting that doesn’t provoke any added distress. At that time, we will go over further details regarding their routine.

We require vaccination records for all canines and felines before the Meet and Greet.

All services come with Transport free of charge. We offer Pickup and Drop-off between the hours of 6AM to 8AM, and 5PM to 8PM, respectively.

Adventures & Accommodations

We are usually out on a hike for a good portion of the day. Occasionally, we will venture out to Long Island, New Jersey, and Upstate New York to provide the pups with the best adventure possible. These hikes are more common in the Spring, Fall, and Winter months, as hot weather conditions can result in heat exhaustion depending on breed. Accommodations are always are made for senior pups, or pups that experience a health condition that requires less activity. Adequate playtime and socialization are provided in our backyard, which is a neutral space.

Photographs, Videos, GPS tracking, and a written update about your loved one’s adventure are provided via text.

We provide each canine guest with a harness, safety collar, carabiner-lock leash, and seatbelt throughout their service. This is to guarantee their safety while they are in our care. I do not use collars for our guests due to general discomfort and the possibility of tracheal collapse. It is not worth the risk. I am Fear Free Certified (specifically in a veterinary setting), and implement the same ethic with all of our guests at Hotel Barrk. Our safety collars and harnesses are all sized using the “two finger” method - you take the width of your middle and index finger and use that as a guide to determine the appropriate size of the device. We also use this technique to appropriately size cones at the clinic!

I am licensed to administer:
Sub Q Fluids/Injections $10/per inj
IM injections $10/per inj
Oral Medications $0
Application of Ophthalmic Ointments/Drops $0
Otic Medications $0
Topical Medications $0
Bandage Dressings $5

We also offer Anal Gland Expressions and Nail Trims starting at $15 each. We always include footage of all procedures performed.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out! Full transparency is important to us. If you ever wanted to stop by, you would be welcomed with open arms and paws!

Below is a description of our services and pricing! If this sounds like the right fit, let me know and we can schedule an intake appointment at your earliest convince.

Canine Boarding

We are crate free, with the exception of pups that are properly crate trained and look at this as their “den.” When trained appropriately, this can help relieve a lot of anxiety for them, but by request is the only time we ever elect to use one. Each space is separated by tall baby gates in a semi-open concept style (think pony walls) so there is visibility, but separation to provide safety. Giving everyone their own space to decompress and have alone time is important for pups too! You will need to provide your pup’s most recent medical record, food, and any of his or her favorite toys, treats, blankets, or beds so they are as happy and comfortable as possible during their stay. We want them to be reminded of home while they’re making new friends! I am with the pups at all times, so they always have someone supervising.

Pricing

$60 for 24 hours ($2.50 an hour)

(Each additional pup is $10 for small breeds, $15 for medium breeds, and $20 for large breeds)

Long-term Boarding starts at 1k/4 weeks

Daycare

Daycare is recommended a maximum of 2-3 times per week. They are out of your home between 9 and 14 hours, and transportation is provided to make things easier during the workweek. We usually start the day with 2 hours of socialization in the backyard. Afterwards, we’ll go out for a few hours on a hike. On an average day, we are home around 3-4PM. The pups are normally wiped out at that point and will nap for a few hours. This is when I take the opportunity to text all of their humans with individual updates about the day! If your pup normally receives a late breakfast, lunch, an early dinner, or any time-sensitive medications, we just ask that you send them with portioned meals and/or proper dosing.

Pricing

$45 for the day ($5 for each additional pup).

Home Visit

We like to keep your loved one as close to their normal routine as possible, so we will schedule appointments around their regular feeding and/or walking times. You will receive GPS tracking for the duration that we are together. Any additional requests, such as taking in mail, or watering plants are done free of charge. At the Meet and Greet, we will discuss exchanging keys, or having a lockbox installed. Reach out to discuss multi-pet households! Please let me know if your reptile is NOT consuming live prey. I would like a walkthrough of their feeding routine. Any regular maintenance for fish tanks will need a written walkthrough before Home Visits begin.

Feline, Large Bird, & Small Animal Boarding

These little guys will be given a private, quiet room. Felines usually end up staying with my father, and we provide scent therapy to help ease the transition. For bunnies, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, we ask that you provide a large corral, food, snacks, sand baths, chew toys, and an adequate supply of bedding to accommodate the length of their stay. For small birds, hamsters, mice, and gerbils, we ask that you elect to use our Home Visits service.
